Taxpayer Dollars Spent On TVs and Xboxes for Illegal Immigrants in NYC

Last month, there were over 227,000 illegal immigrants encountered at the southern border. Border patrol has encountered over TWO MILLION illegal immigrants in the fiscal year 2022. These are record-breaking numbers.
We have been facing a crisis at our border month after month due to the lack of leadership coming from the federal government. Illegal immigrants are entering this country with little consequences, and are practically being paid with American tax dollars to live freely.
New York City has opened a migrant camp on Randalls Island to house some of these immigrants in response to the influx of border crossings happening this year. What is in these migrant camps, you ask? Well, I can tell you it’s not the fenced cages and mylar blankets seen during the Obama administration.
This migrant facility is a whopping 84,000 square feet equipped with over 500 cot-beds fresh with linens, a recreation area, cafeteria where meals are served three times a day, and a living area full of TVs and gaming systems. There are also phones for immigrants to make calls and free washing machines and dryers to use where their clothes can be laundered and folded.
The New York facility is for men and includes a security team and case managers staffing the area. These individuals are allowed to spend their day outside the facility but have a 10PM curfew. The end goal is to only have them stay for four days and then be processed, but there is no explicit limit to how long the illegals can stay. Women and children arriving in New York are sent to nearby hotels where they receive similar accommodations as this facility.
This is unheard of.
All of this is being paid for by tax dollars. Illegal immigrants are receiving more care and benefits awaiting deportation hearings than our own homeless veterans. Policies like these are creating an incentive for illegal immigrants to invade our country en masse without going through the legal process of gaining citizenship. Something needs to change.
