Frontlines TPUSA White House Correspondent Monica Paige interviewed Kristin Hawkins, President of Students for Life, on the opening day of AmericaFest, discussing recent events in the conservative movement and the effect abortion has had on it.

Hawkins initially addressed the tragic moment in which Charlie Kirk was assassinated, and how she, while on a different campus, conveyed to students the breaking news of Kirk’s passing while paralleling it with the “culture of death,” that is, the phrase she uses for abortion.

“This is what happens when you allow abortion in a generation,” she told Paige. “We have trained an entire two generations of people to believe that a helpless, defenseless child can be destroyed for simply being temporarily inconvenient for their mother. And when you do that you erase human rights and it doesn’t just extend to these helpless children you can’t see, it goes to all of us.”

“When reason evaporates, violence always follows,” Hawkins declared additionally.

The two also discussed the types of protesters against the pro-life movement who they most frequently encounter.

“Many of the women who I speak with on a college campus have had an abortion. There are two people my bodyguards look out for the most: trans women, and older women, usually administrators [in their 50s and 60s]…these are women still hurting decades after their abortion.”

Hawkins is delicate when talking with women who have possibly had abortions, knowing the pain the subject can cause.

“You have value: your life matters,” she tells women.

Yet, the consequences of abortion are something she emphasizes to women.

“This is a decision that will literally stick with you until you’re in your grave… you’ll never forget your abortion.”

Hawkins and Paige concluded the discussion with predictions about the upcoming elections and how the issue of abortion will affect it.
