Exeter Region Cooperative School District is gaining national attention for suspending a student-athlete from his football team for what he said in a PRIVATE text message to another student.

The freshman boy was first heard saying on the school bus to his friend that he could not see how plural pronouns for an individual could be utilized by Spanish speakers when the language relies on masculine and feminine identifiers. A very accurate and honest perspective.

Another student who overheard this conversation responded to the student-athlete, saying there are more than two genders, to which the boy replied, “No, there isn’t.” The female student later sent him a chain of text messages addressing their disagreement, which resulted in the boy being suspended from his football team for saying he believed only two genders exist: male and female. The school claims the boy was suspended for “failing to recognize another student’s gender pronouns and using inappropriate language in his texts.”

This is precious, memorable time in his sports career that he will never get back because of woke, progressive garbage. He is stating a fact. This is how God designed us.

A lawsuit is now being executed by the student-athlete claiming his texts are protected under the First Amendment. The suit further states that the individual “will never refer to any individual person using plural pronouns such as ‘they,’ using contrived pronouns such as ‘ze,’ or with any similar terminology that reflects values which (the student) does not share.”

Stories like these are exactly why Turning Point USA has created a school board watchlist program. Students with differing viewpoints are being punished by their peers and staff members simply for expressing their First Amendment rights. This is unacceptable, taking away from their athletic endeavors and action needs to be taken. Visit TPUSA’s School Board Watchlist to learn more!
