SHOCKING: BYU Hawaii Is Anti-Science and Anti-Student
At TPUSA, our team’s emails have been blown up by parents and students at BYU Hawaii who are facing a hostage situation over the administration’s new measures for a vaccine mandate.
Students must decide between beginning their fall semester at BYUH or getting the Chinese Corona Virus vaccine. Consider this delusional explanation from the President of BYUH:

“A consequence of choosing not to be vaccinated is that you will not be able to enroll at BYU Hawaii.”
One parent reached out to us because her son only has one semester left to complete his bachelor’s degree at BYU Hawaii, and he does not want to get the vaccine. You would think that a free country and a church-owned school would warrant that option. His body, his choice. But because of BYU Hawaii’s brazen disregard for liberty, humanity, and science, he has been forced to either get the vaccine despite his concerns, lose his internship and on-campus job, or transfer to BYU Idaho to complete his last semester of studies where many credit hours from BYU Hawaii will not transfer.
Here is a similar sentiment from a student who is a senior at BYU Hawaii:
We are humbly and desperately asking for a chance to fight. Many efforts in contacting the school administration, president of the school, etc, as well as academic advisors, have not gone the way we have hoped. They tell me, every time, something along the lines of, “Yes, you have the agency to choose. If you don’t want the vaccine, then you won’t be allowed to come to school and will need to go elsewhere”. The president of the school, John Kauwe, even said so himself in a comment on the schoolʻs instagram page, on which comments were disabled and taken down for (and I quote) “spreading misinformation” and to “protect the integrity of our students”. Our voices are being squashed and tossed aside just simply because we don’t believe in getting a new vaccine of which we don’t have extensive information on.
In my personal experience, the administration has told me, “There is a BYU Idaho online option, and you can just transfer the credits back here to BYUH and still be able to graduate in December. However, that is not in the cards for me as a senior student with upper level classes that are not offered nor can be transferred from school to school. I feel bullied and pressured into getting the vaccine simply because I want to graduate in December, and I am threatening my degree if I transfer schools and donʻt get the vaccine- I will essentially start from square one, have 1 1/2 years left of school, and repeat my major at another school, as well as pick different minors as my minors are not offered at any other school.
Here’s a story from another student that might shock you even more than the previous two:
An incoming freshman, Olivia Sandor, who was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS), an auto-immune disease that temporarily paralyzed her from the waist down, has been warned by all of her medical providers to refrain from getting the vaccine as it could cause permanent paralysis or even death. BYUH was Olivia’s dream school. She gave up $200,000 in scholarships just to attend. Then, BYUH enacted their ludicrous, anti-science, anti-liberty vaccine mandate.
Olivia’s doctors provided BYUH with an exemption form specifying her condition and the dangerous implications she might face if she were to receive the Chinese Coronavirus vaccine.

Her medical exemption was denied.

In response, Olivia and her parents filed an appeal to have the administration revisit her case and approve her medical exemption:

BYUH denied Olivia’s appeal, crushing her dreams of attending her dream school. Their reasoning? Olivia “should not get the J&J vaccine… She should be fine to get the Moderna vaccine.”

How heartless and inhumane. Who made the “physicians of health services at BYUH” the arbiters of all medical decisions? Drs. Ember and Royden Christensen have seen none of Olivia’s medical history. They are simply making determinations for her health based, not on her doctor’s medical advice, but on their own accord.
The staff at BYUH and the medical tyrants behind their decision-making must be held accountable. No one should be required to risk their own health from an experimental vaccine. This is disgusting, abhorrent, totally unjustified, and irresponsible on BYUH’s part.
BYUH is anti-science and anti-student. No parent or student should stand for this.
Turning Point USA has launched a “No Forced Vax” campaign to spread the facts about the Wuhan virus vaccine and fight back against the totalitarians suppressing the liberty of students. For more information on how to get involved, visit https://www.tpusa.com/vax.
