Grocery store shelves are bare… in America! This isn’t happening on some remote island or in a decimated, socialist nation. The United States, the alleged world superpower and greatest country in the world is experiencing a supply chain crisis, and it’s completely man-made. The real reason for this disaster is simple: labor shortages.  Trucking companies can’t find drivers and there is no one to empty cargo ships, so they are stuck at sea because people are getting paid more to stay home and collect a government check. Conversely, those who want to work may not want to get a vaccine, so they are protesting regulations and staying out of the workforce.

This is a nightmare of third-world proportions. One would assume that our erudite and hard-working government officials would be working around the clock to rectify this situation. This couldn’t be further from the truth.

The person whose job it is to oversee such issues is the United State Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg. Well, Mayor Pete (as they call him) has been on full, paid paternity leave since AUGUST.  So, during a supply chain crisis of historic proportions, the person tasked with fixing the problem is “Out of Office.”

NO one is lambasting the mediocre former South Bend Mayor for wanting to spend time with his family. The issue is that this is an emergency. Moreover, the average American MOTHER does not have the luxury of over two months of parental leave.

According to Zippia.com, one-third of American women don’t take any maternity leave at all, likely because paid leave is not offered through their job. Healthline.com adds that 25% of mothers return to work within just two short weeks.

Leftists pretend to care about women and working mothers, but all they really seem to care about is collecting a paycheck stolen from our hard-earned tax dollars while doing absolutely nothing. As mothers, we must be accountable every day. We are required to pay the bills and put food on the table. The only people who seem to lack all accountability are those running our federal government.
