This past Thursday, the Supreme Court blocked the Biden administration from enforcing vaccine mandates to companies that employ more than 100 people. OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) wanted to require workers to get vaccinated or get tested weekly AND wear a mask. Thankfully, this was promptly shut down by the conservative-leaning court. The court stated, “COVID–19 can and does spread at home, in schools, during sporting events, and everywhere else that people gather. That kind of universal risk is no different from the day-to-day dangers that all face from crime, air pollution, or any number of communicable diseases.” Had this mandate passed, it would have given unprecedented power to OSHA, and that’s the last thing we need right now.
While the vaccine mandates were struck down for all employers, the court did allow a mandate requiring health care workers whose employers are federally funded to be vaccinated, which doesn’t make any sense at all because COVID-positive nurses are allowed to work. Yes…if you test positive for COVID, but you’re asymptomatic, you can go to work, but if you’re unvaccinated… you’re fired.
While this is a huge win for freedom, and I’m glad that this mandate was blocked, I really wish that all mandates would just come to an end. They aren’t rooted in science, and it’s clear it’s all about control. Power tripping government officials from all over the country wish to enact baseless mandates in the name of “science” only to be hypocrites and go against everything they’ve fought to put in place. Every week I see more and more people from the left call start to perk their heads up a little and ask more questions. This is great, but it shouldn’t have taken two years to see through the lies that have been in front of us this entire time.
