Race-Based Admission Requirements Disproportionately hurt Asian Students

Despite claiming to stand for POC, when it comes to Asians, the left’s track record is nothing short of terrible.

Over the past few years, violent hate crimes against Asians (particularly elderly Asian women) have soared. Progressives like to blame these attacks on President Trump daring to accurately point out that COVID-19 originated in China by calling it the “China virus,” but they fail to realize that not only does calling out China’s government not equate to hating Chinese people, but also that these hate crimes occur almost exclusively in liberal cities, which are not exactly known to be bastions of Trump support.

And in response to these crimes, instead of calling for more police presence or harsher punishments for perpetrators, leftists have not just ignored the issue, they’ve actually accused those wanting action of stoking anti-blackness and inter-minority strife.

This brings us to the issue of affirmative action, and the Supreme Court’s latest decision to hear two cases challenging the legality of race-based admissions policies this fall. Colleges have been well known to discriminate against Asian students who, on average, tend to excel academically in favor of black and latino students in the name of “diversity.” Asian student groups aren’t asking for special treatment, just equal treatment, yet curiously they have been smeared as the racist ones, for questioning policies that help “black and brown” equity.

Asian-Americans are merely asking for the ability to not suffer from violent hate crimes, and to not actively be penalized because of their race, but apparently that’s too much to ask from the left.

“Turning Point USA is the fastest-growing youth movement in America, and they have a potential to play a decisive role in shaping our country for decades to come.”
