I recently had the privilege of writing an article for Evie Magazine about the lies of the body positivity movement after I was totally floored by the cover story in Self Magazine, “The Future of Fitness”.

In Evie, I make the argument that the body positivity movement isn’t actually positive, but rather, that it glorifies unhealthy behavior and habits in your life that set you up for disaster and death, not a “positive” life.
Doing research on obesity was a powerful reminder of how dangerous the lies of “pro-fat culture” can be. Did you know that obesity is linked to higher rates of “high blood pressure and high cholesterol, which later contribute to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, breathing problems like asthma, joint problems like osteoarthritis, gallbladder disease, and even a higher risk of severe illness or death from Covid-19,” among other issues?
We have to stop playing into the lies of progressive culture for the sake of sounding inclusive–lies do not surpass truth, regardless of how often they are repeated.
