Professor Walker of ODU Seeks To Normalize ‘MAPS’- Minor Attracted Persons
Turning Point USA’s Professor Watchlist exposes and documents college professors who discriminate against conservative students and advance Leftist propaganda in the classroom. The most recent addition to their list is Allyn Walker of Old Dominion University.
Walker, an assistant professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice, wrote a book seeking to normalize pedophilia. The book is called “A Long, Dark Shadow: Minor Attracted People and Their Pursuit of Dignity,” which posits that those attracted to minors are misunderstood and a group that should be destigmatized.
Walker doesn’t prefer the term pedophile, but instead encourages the use of the term “MAPS,” minor attracted persons. He also argues that people can’t control attraction.
Sane psychologists disagree entirely with Walker’s assertions. The improper attraction to children is a byproduct of a psychological problem or problems with deeper root causes.
Such terrifying rhetoric from someone with no psychological training or education is deeply harmful to children, students, and families. Please contact Old Dominion to express your displeasure with Professor Walker.
