During the busy holiday season, a group of left-wing protestors advocating for Palestine disrupted traffic on the road leading to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The protestors utilized large objects, including cement blocks, to block the road entering LAX, causing inconvenience for travelers heading to the airport. Some affected drivers were reportedly forced to abandon their vehicles and walk to the airport with their luggage to avoid missing their flights.

The LAPD eventually intervened, declaring the gathering an unlawful assembly and arresting 36 pro-Palestinian protestors who had temporarily blocked the roadway. The protestors were charged with rioting, and at least one was charged with battery on a police officer.

“This was not a peaceful demonstration,” the department said.

When LAPD intervened with the protestors blocking the road, several of them began throwing objects at police officers. Two LAPD officers were assaulted.

“Protestors threw a police officer to the ground, used construction debris, road signs, tree branches and blocks of concrete to obstruct Century Boulevard, while attacking uninvolved passersby in their vehicles,” LAPD explained in a post on X.

The activists expressed their condemnation of Israel in light of the recent Israel-Hamas conflict. They were seen attempting to draw attention to their cause by holding signs with messages like “ceasefire is not enough” and “free Palestine.”

The protest took place during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year for LAX, with nearly two million travelers expected to enter the airport between December 15 and January 2.

This incident reflects a growing trend among left-wing activists who employ road-blocking tactics to advocate for their preferred policies, whether related to climate change or geopolitical conflicts. But these radical leftists must realize that hindering the freedom of innocent bystanders to travel freely will not effectively draw support for their causes.
