Former President Trump attended Game 4 of the World Series between the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros. President Trump and his wife Melania were seen in attendance with New York Yankees President Randy Levine and U.S. Senate Candidate Herschel Walker who is a former NFL running back.
The appearance, of course, caused an uproar not only because Former President Trump encouraged the boycott of the MLB in April of 2021 after the league decided to move the 2021 All-Star Game, but because of the controversial “tomahawk chop.” President Trump was seen making the old traditional chopping gesture that Braves fans participate in on game day.
The “chop” and the “Braves” team name have become hot topics for those that get triggered easily. Apparently, the name and gesture are degrading to the Native American community.
This was a big series for the Braves since they competed for their first World Series title since 1995. The Braves came out on top last night to win Game 6, beating the Astros 4-2.
What do you think about this “cultural appropriation?” Do you think the chop is a degrading gesture?
