President Signs Executive Order Banning Men from Women’s Sports

On February 5, President Trump signed an Executive Order effectively banning transgender women (i.e. biological men) from competing in women’s sports in K-12 schools and colleges and universities.
Titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports,” the Executive Order comes in light of many female athletes being affected physically and mentally due to the presence of men in their respective sports.
The Order will require an investigation of every tax-funded school with men participating in women’s sports to be investigated for Title IX violations. Schools in violation of the order will risk loss of federal funding.
The Order presents the following requirements:
“The order requires DOJ to abide by the nationwide vacatur of the previous Administration’s illegal Title IX rewrite that would have dissolved single-sex spaces and opportunities.”
“The order also requires immediate action, including enforcement actions, against schools and athletic associations comprised of schools that deny women single-sex sports and single-sex locker rooms.”
Present at the signing ceremony were several women athletes and activists for single gender sports, along with lawmakers. Athletes who faced adversity from competing with male athletes were acknowledged by the President.
“Men claiming to be girls have stolen more than 3,000 victories,” the President said. He also cited a variety of instances of men competing as women who unfairly broke athletic world records.
The Order also welcomes women who were affected by unfair competition with men to tell their stories at the White House:
“The Executive Order calls for the convening of private sporting bodies in the White House to hear, in person, the stories of female athletes who suffer life-long injuries, who have been silenced and forced to shower with men, and whose hard work has been cast aside due to the biological advantage of males.”
The Secretary of State will now “demand changes” from the International Olympic Committee to “preserve single-sex sports.”
Moreover, the Department of Homeland Security will review visa policies aiming to identify men who identify as females when entering the U.S. for athletic competitions.
Coincidentally, the signing of “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” took place on National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
“With this Executive Order, the war on women’s sport is over,” the President proclaimed.
