During a press conference regarding the economy and rising costs, President Biden claimed that airline upgrade fees somehow unfairly target people of color.

Some airlines, if you want six more inches between you and the seat in front, you pay more money but you don’t know it until you purchase your ticket. Look folks these are junk fees, they’re unfair and they hit marginalized Americans the hardest, especially low-income folks and people of color.”

President Joe Biden

Of course, there are a million and one things that people could and should complain about regarding the state of the airline industry — like how people are forced into less than a square foot of space, cramped next to total strangers for hours at a time — but racism? It doesn’t track.

It sounds as if he is trying to allege that people of color can’t afford to purchase the extra six inches of leg room, which closely resemble offensive comments he made back in 2019.

The fact is, this administration does not want to acknowledge the fact that most Americans, regardless of color, cannot afford airline prices at all right now due to the ever-rising inflation.

The left tries to make everything about race, so why would leg room and airline fees be any different? President Biden’s comments have garnered harsh criticism from social media users who find the assumption disrespectful. It’s another example of the left showing their soft bigotry of low expectations. The President, and other politicians on the left, attempt to appeal to non-white voters by portraying them as victims. When in reality, their accusations comes off as offensive, making it sound like non-white voters are incapable of taking care of themselves. I suspect that voters are starting to see through the shallow rhetoric.
