As Saul Alinsky explains in his book “Rules for Radicals,” a successful leftist movement has a base of supporters that aren’t dedicated to one specific issue but can instead quickly shift their anger from point to issue. By providing the base frequent new issues to get mad about, the leftist leaders ensure the movement never loses energy.
