Pastor and Turning Point Faith Contributor John Amanchukwu attended a Springfield Public Schools board meeting on Tuesday night in Missouri to draw attention to the presence of explicit content in school library books available to students.

The meeting, held at the Kraft Administrative Center, saw Amanchukwu addressing the board regarding LGBTQ material available to students that was pornographic in nature. He specifically referenced the book “Jack of Hearts and Other Parts,” which includes detailed descriptions of sexual acts between two men.

After reading an excerpt aloud from the book that was clearly inappropriate for school children, Amanchukwu went on to question the board’s judgment in allowing such content in the school libraries.

“Is this what we’re teaching at Springfield Public Schools?” he asked. “If this book remains in the school system, you all are either punks or perverts.”

He continued, emphasizing the board’s responsibility by saying, “Every last one of you has the responsibility to do what’s in the best interest of children.”

Turning Point USA’s School Board Watchlist had previously highlighted that Springfield Public Schools provided students with LGBTQ materials through the Kickapoo High School virtual library. A review of the library catalog revealed several books with LGBTQ content accessible to students without restriction.

Turning Point USA would like to thank Dr. Bob for his contributions that allow Pastor Amanchukwu to pursue stories that shed light on corruption within the public education system.
