American’s have become too tolerant for our own good. While most people would consider tolerance to be a form of patience and even a virtue to behold within modern society, it is easy to see it has become the very attribute that has caused the downfall of societies at large.
We have been led to believe that tolerance is necessary in order to survive and thrive as a nation, and in a perfect world (or at least in a more moral one) that would indeed ring true. However, our current state of affairs showcase quite an imperfect world prime for destruction.
I wish we could go back to the days where tolerance was more about innocuous lighthearted issues, like dealing with a strangers loquacious mouth, or putting up with a grumpy elderly mans disdainful countenance. The days of such ease is long gone, and replaced with the expectation by society to tolerate absolute debauchery and lasciviousness. We have come to tolerate evil, licentiousness, and sinful desires that lead to nothing more than the degradation of society.
We need to fix this country and get it back on track by once again showcasing our intense displeasure for those who seek to tear it all down, and by leading our fellow Americans to a more moral society by reintroducing liberty within a moral framework in stead of the current push for unbridled liberty. We conservatives are so afraid to admit that we’re intolerant – intolerant of evil. We dread being labeled as a racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe, transphobe, xenophobe, etc.
However, we should not only care about such unsubstantiated labels being heaped onto us, but we should also OWN our intolerance. After all, the left is just as intolerant of our beliefs, values, and morality, which just goes to show how intolerant the “tolerant” left really is, as they curse and accuse us on the right of intolerance. Well, as the saying goes, “if the left didn’t have any double standards, they would have no standards at all.” Rings true every time!
So to those who are thinking tolerance will bring about a better society, understand it is doing the exact opposite. For us to thrive as a culture and as a people, we must do away with such foolish notions and get back to hating evil, exposing evil, and ostracizing such people from polite society.
