Ottawa Elementary School District No. 141 in Illinois has a very serious issue that its board is neglecting. The district’s Shepherd Middle School makes available for students two obscene books: one called “Queer: The Ultimate Guide for LGBTQ Students,” and the other called “What Girls are Made Of.”
Both of these books have no business sitting in even the most remote, undiscoverable section of a middle school library shelf.
I made sure to read some explicit passages from these books before the board during a meeting on Tuesday to bring awareness to these books and hopefully effect a change.
“Genital stimulation can come from any body part,” the authors wrote in the book. They then listed several body parts that can be used for sexual “stimulation” along with actions that can be performed to produce stimulation.
And this is made available – in a middle school – for young students. It would be scandalous even if high school students were subjected to this.
The other book, “What Girls are Made Of”, is deeply problematic, especially to a person of faith, let alone a person of faith who is an adolescent!
“Eat him and drink him and do with him what I will,” one character said vaguely.
“But come on she was talking about sex, right?” another character asked. “Sex with Jesus? That was what she wanted–to give Jesus head.”
At the end of my address, I told this cowardly school board it should be ashamed for willfully allowing these smutty, filthy books into their schools: the nation will see their folly.
