Question for you: Do you believe in Bigfoot (aka Sasquatch), or do you think it’s a big myth?!
This question has led avid Bigfoot believers to push a new bill – House Bill 1648, introduced by Rep. Justin Humphrey. The bill encourages the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission to introduce a “Bigfoot hunting season.”
“The Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission shall promulgate rules establishing a Bigfoot hunting season,” the bill states. “The Commission shall set annual season dates and create any necessary specific hunting licenses and fees.”
The introduction of this bill did not come without backlash, not only from the deniers but also from those who believe in Bigfoot.
The side that believes Bigfoot is a myth has called Humphreys an idiot and cursed at him. On the other side, Bigfoot believers haven’t been as harsh. They think this creature should just be left alone.
There have been a number of reports of Bigfoot encounters across the United States. According to The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, there have been 70 reports made for Bigfoot encounters since 2010 in Oklahoma alone! Maybe a Bigfoot hunting season will push habitual hunters to explore the possibility of Bigfoot’s presence on American land. Maybe encounters with the mysterious creature will increase, and we will finally know whether or not Bigfoot is real.
