Last week, I had the distinct honor and privilege to interview Olivia Sandor, the college freshman who made national news this summer after BYU-Hawaii denied her medical exemption for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Olivia was diagnosed as a teenager with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a rare autoimmune disease that makes it difficult, if not impossible, to receive vaccinations for anything–let alone COVID-19.

Despite letters from her doctors and a full explanation of her diagnosis, BYU-Hawaii refused to honor a valid medical exemption for someone who truly needed it. After national media and social media responded, BYUH doubled down on their stance and refused to admit Olivia without being vaccinated for COVID.

If you didn’t get a chance to watch her interview, you can catch up here!
