Ohio Town Rattled By Haitian Migrants Who Reportedly Eat Ducks, Geese
The sleepy town of Springfield, Ohio, is reportedly rattled by claims that Haitian migrants have been decapitating ducks in public parks and eating them.
Accusations against the approximately 20,000 Haitian migrants flooding Springfield are not new, but a viral clip from an aggravated citizen revitalized the conversation.
“I really challenge you guys to get out here and do something,” the concerned citizen told the city council. “These Haitians are running into trash cans, running into buildings… they’re flipping cars in the middle of the street.”
“They’re in the park, grabbing up ducks by their necks, and cutting their heads off, and walking off with them. They’re eating them,” he continued.
Reports of migrants eating ducks remain unconfirmed, though a picture shows a man who appears of Haitian descent holding a deceased duck by the neck. Local Facebook pages discuss the litany of instances in which town natives witnessed similar experiences.
Springfield became a hotbed for the immigration debate when Haitian migrants arrived in 2020 to fill job vacancies. Over the years, nearly 20,000 Haitian migrants have flocked to the town. Locals complain that the migrant’s arrival puts a strain on medical services and the education system.
Tension overflowed after a school bus crash, caused by a Haitian migrant, killed an 11-year-old named Aiden Clark in August 2023.
Other residents complained to the city council that migrants made their neighborhoods unsafe. A local woman pleaded with officials to make changes after revealing she was forced out of her home of 45 years over migrant activity.
“I’m done with what I’m seeing,” the local woman said. “It is so unsafe in my neighborhood… I have men that cannot speak English in my front yard screaming at me, throwing mattresses… [and] throwing trash in my front yard.”
“Look at me,” she continued. “I weigh 95 pounds. I couldn’t defend myself if I had to.”
