The National Rifle Association announced last week that their annual meeting being held in Houston, Texas was cancelled due to COVID-19. Due to a spike in the new delta variant of the virus and rising numbers in hospitals, the group decided it was best to cancel the meeting all together.
“Due to concern over the safety of our NRA family and community, we regret to inform you that we have decided to cancel the 2021 Annual Meeting & Exhibits,” the group said in a statement. “The NRA’s top priority is ensuring the health and well-being of our members, staff, sponsors, and supporters.”
The NRA does not plan to reschedule the annual meeting but instead prepare for the “Celebration of Freedom” event in May that is being held in Louisville, Kentucky.
The nonprofit organization released this statement in regard to the meeting being cancelled:

What do you think about the NRA cancelling their annual meeting? Was this the right move?
