Have you ever wanted to go by different pronouns? Does the concept of a gender dichotomy get you down? Would you like to virtue signal to your followers that you’re ~woke~ and “with the times?” Or perhaps you go by the pronouns that match your biological sex but you just want to make that abundantly clear to everyone online?
Well—you are in luck, my friend.
Instagram has just rolled out a new feature where you can do all of these things and more by integrating your “preferred pronouns” in your bio. That’s right—gone are the days where you must use precious space in your bio to make everyone aware that you are, indeed, a he/him. Instagram was kind enough to give those characters back to you, freeing up space for users to virtue signal in other ways, (showcase your hyperorganic pseudo-veganism or flex your intersectional feminist bona fides, perhaps?) and relegate a designated home for your very own personal pronouns.
Personally, as for me, I’ll be including my pronouns—I currently identify as “Fed/Up,” anyone else?
