Nancy Pelosi Says China is One of the “Freest Societies” in the World After Praising Taiwan
Last week House Speaker Nancy Pelosi traveled to Taiwan, in her words, to honor America’s “unwavering commitment” to support Taiwan’s “vibrant Democracy,” as reported by The Post Millennial.

Her visit caused outrage from mainland China. The country issued multiple statements threatening military action against the island of Taiwan should the Speaker of the House continue with her visit, this however, did not happen.
Shortly after her return to the United States, Speaker Pelosi appeared on NBC and made the staggering claim, “China is one of the freest societies in he world.”
It’s easy to understand why so many people were shocked to hear this, given Speaker Pelosi’s recent outspoken support for Taiwan. China is also well known for its numerous human rights violations, which include intimidation, unfair trials with little representation, torture, legitimate police brutality, mass imprisonments, as well as forced abortions and limits to the number of offspring. The Uyghur Muslims are a group within China experiencing possibly the worst persecution, from forced labor to re-education camps, this group is enslaved by the CCP but ignored by a majority of the world. China also has a devastating history of forced stylizations without consent.
That said, it is a little unnerving to hear someone in a leadership flip flop on support for Taiwan, then praise China for having a “free” society.
