If you have not heard of the Big Dog Ranch Rescue, you have to visit their website https://www.bdrr.org. Founded in 2008 in Palm Beach County, Florida, Big Dog Ranch Rescue is the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the United States.

A trip to the ranch will blow you away.  Imagine Disney World for dogs in need.  The impressive accommodations include 33 acres of outdoor play space, countless smiling staff members walking dogs, in-house veterinary teams and spacious, cage-free doggie bedrooms. They’re even building a 3,400 square-foot facility to train service dogs for Veterans.

The Ranch has saved the lives of more than 43,000 dogs in endeavors that have spanned the globe. They have taken in dogs from natural disasters in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Team members have also made harrowing trips to Communist China to save purebred dogs, like golden retrievers, from the human consumption food trade.

Yes, you read that right; the Chinese Communist Party feeds its people golden retrievers (and other pure breeds).  In fact, the government does not allow citizens to have pet dogs that are taller than 15 inches. If the dogs are too big, they are confiscated and used for food.

Sad realities like this are why Big Dog Ranch Rescue’s mission is to save 5,000 dogs every year, end euthanasia in kill shelters, educate the public on proper pet care and teach the importance of spaying and neutering.

The ranch is a massive labor of love and could only be handled by a true rock star.  Lauree Simmons is that person.  As the President and Founder of Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Lauree is a brave, tough, loving, generous and compassionate soul who is truly a global voice for dogs. When you meet her, you instantly see that she is changing the world for the better.

On behalf of the Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Lauree recently held the 8th annual “Wine Women and Shoes” fundraising event at the Mar-a-Lago Club.  After a chance encounter with Lauree at the ranch, I was asked to emcee the event. It was truly magical.

We raised a humbling amount of money for at-risk dogs and were honored to be joined by VERY special guests Lara Trump and President Donald Trump.  The crowd was so excited. You would have thought that there were rock stars in the building.

Sadly, the left-wing media is trying to smear the Ranch simply because the group has held events at Trump’s properties.  Several SLANDEROUS articles have been written, causing a loss in support and donations.

Rescue dogs are not political.  Animals are not activists. The Ranch is a nonprofit entity with no motivation other than saving animals.

We must counter these horrible, baseless attacks. Please follow Big Dog Ranch Rescue on social media. Please share this story.  The dogs in need deserve better than political clickbait.
