Go woke. Go broke.
Major League Baseball has taken a beating since they decided to move the 2021 All-Star Game out of Atlanta, Georgia. Now they’re facing a whopping $1.1 billion lawsuit from the Job Creators Network. $1 billion in punitive damages and $100 million in damages for businesses.
The braindead move made by Commissioner Rob Manfred and MLB was made after Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed SB202 into law. While The Left claimed that this was “Jim Crow 2.0” and “voter suppression” for asking citizens of Georgia to show ID to vote, the minorities they pretend to care about were financially devastated by moving the game out of Atlanta. Hence, the lawsuit from the Job Creators Network who is taking this to a New York Federal court.
NEWSFLASH! You have to show an ID when you pick up tickets from the ballpark ticket office. That’s not racist. So why is voter ID considered racist? I explain how The Left’s narrative doesn’t make sense and more in this episode of Benny On The Block from Atlanta, Georgia here.
The worst part? They moved the game to Denver, Colorado. A city that has exponentially less minorities and in many cases, has stricter voting laws. Take a look:
MLB cities work tirelessly to have the honor to host the midsummer classic. After a year of the economically devastating pandemic, where big government destroyed American livelihoods, Atlanta had the chance to host and help revitalize its small businesses. The irony here is that most of these businesses are predominantly owned and run by minorities! It would have brought in much-needed revenue and had the ability to change lives. This is a huge swing and a miss from MLB.
Part of the suit demands that MLB return the All-Star Game to Cobb County as explained by Alfredo Ortiz, president and CEO of the Job Creators Network, “MLB robbed the small businesses of Atlanta – many of them minority-owned – of $100 million, we want the game back where it belongs… This was a knee-jerk, hypocritical and illegal reaction to misinformation about Georgia’s new voting law which includes Voter-ID. Major League Baseball itself requests ID at will-call ticket windows at Yankee Stadium in New York, Busch Stadium in St. Louis and at ballparks all across the country.”
According to WXIA, previous MLB All-Star Games have generated up to $197 million for host cities. As a result of the game being pulled, some movie productions pulled out of the state and more than 8,000 hotel reservations were cancelled.
Do more of this, America! Don’t stand idly by! Go after these people! MLB moved this game based on a lie! If they can’t get the game back, they are doing what they can to get their livelihoods back. Good for them!
