Students, faculty, and parents at Plainfield School District in Illinois are speaking out about the school’s invasion of privacy and inappropriate subject matter after the district sent a survey to all students, including middle schoolers, asking them to describe their sexuality.
The controversial survey asked students, “Do you identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, aromantic/ asexual, or questioning?”
Below is a screenshot of the question and potential answers on the survey:

An anonymous administrator at the school said he is concerned this is an invasion of privacy and that perhaps students will be marked for identifying a particular way.
The administrator’s voiced his concern saying, “I’m not a very political person or someone that speaks out often about things that bother me. But when I heard about this, it really hit a nerve. I have young children of my own, and with everything going on, it’s difficult for them to receive a decent education. It seems like more and more teachers are being pushed to give special treatment to certain groups and ignore others.
He also shared that he is concerned with children in middle school being forced to have conversations about sexual orientation at such a young age, saying:
“I’m not sure how this has anything to do with the way they learn in the classroom. I want to protect my children, and all children for that matter, from being sexualized and being coerced into hormone injections and sex-changes that are life-altering at such a young age. Children today are bombarded with these ideas non-stop on TV, social media, and now in school, and it’s a struggle for parents to lead them in the right path.”
Cameron Gray, a student in Plainfield School District, expressed her frustration at the direction in which the school is headed:
“Asking not only high school students, but middle schoolers, about their sexual orientation is an invasion of privacy and completely inappropriate. It’s upsetting to see the school district I’ve been a part of for so long collapsing to the pressure of left-wing ideology…”
Adults shouldn’t be asking about or forcing minors to disclose their sexual preferences. The over-sexualization and indoctrination of children from The Left should be fought against. Don’t just stand idly by. Stand up for these kids.
