New York City Mayor, Eric Adams, thought it would be a good idea to build a migrant camp in the Bronx. However, after intense backlash from locals and activists in the area, the camp is now being relocated to Randall’s Island.

Originally located in a parking lot in Orchard Beach, Mayor Adams felt it would be a good idea to invest 150 million dollars into a migrant camp somewhere prone to flooding, near a child’s playground, and outdoors in the middle of a New York winter.

On Monday, residents of the Bronx protested in front of the unfinished camps to call out the safety concerns for not only migrants but Bronx locals.

“How dare they put immigrants in a flood zone during winter, we’re in the middle of October and it’s cold already” one community leader shared.

“My main issue..playgrounds, a thousand men,” another community member shared pointing to the playground in the same lot as the migrant camp, “it’s inhume, it’s dangerous, it was not well thought out, I don’t think Mayor Adams even came to look at the site before doing it, did he see there was a playground there and just didn’t care?”

To make the matter worse, New York’s homeless are allegedly being pushed out of shelters to make room for the illegals making their way to the city.
