Lia Thomas: Students MUST Speak Up
Penn Swimmer Lia Thomas is now the NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Champion after winning the 500-yard freestyle. Thomas is a transgender athlete who was born a male. Factually, medically and biologically speaking, men are different from women in terms of size, lung capacity, muscle mass, and more. It is no surprise that Thomas is eviscerating female competitors. Very few students, competitors, or parents feel comfortable speaking up to date. They are fearful of losing their job, receiving poor grades, and/or retaliation. But the truth is, nothing will ever change unless people speak up, protest, express outrage, and take action.
Will there be consequences? Perhaps. However, progress requires pain. Nothing good comes from a place of comfort. These female student-athletes must do something if they want to make a change. Silence equals status quo.
Just a few years ago, feminists were saying things like, “the future is female” and “believe all women.” Now, men can have babies and compete in women’s sports? The destruction of females hurts everybody and must stop. The only way to end the madness is to speak up and call out this insanity!
