Left-Wing Activists Force Cancellation of TPUSA Chapter Event at University of Washington

A Turning Point USA chapter event at the University of Washington promoting the protection of women’s sports from biological men was canceled after left-wing activists disrupted the gathering. The event, scheduled for January 21, was to feature Olivia Krolczyk, a Riley Gaines Center ambassador and reporter for Campus Reform.
Ahead of the event, the university’s Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) called for protests of Krolczyk’s presentation titled “Protect Women from Men: The Threat of the Trans Agenda.” The group shared a graphic on Instagram titled “No TPUSA Transphobia at UW!” with details of a planned rally.
“On the second day of the second Trump presidency, Turning Point USA will be bringing Olivia Krolczyk, a right wing activist who is trying to make a name for herself by fanning the flames of hatred against trans people across the United States,” the Instagram post’s caption read. “Join us in saying that our campus community stands for trans rights, and that we’ll continue to organize and fight under a Trump presidency to defend our rights.”
As the night of the event unfolded, protesters were seen line dancing and waving signs to shut down the event outside Thompson Hall, where the event was scheduled to be held. Some far-left activists were also seen wearing Palestinian keffiyehs
Activists then infiltrated the venue, pulling fire alarms, blocking access for attendees, and breaking a window. Activists also threw an alarm device into the building, prompting a campus police officer to locate and remove it.
Due to the escalating disruptions and safety concerns, the event was canceled. Police had to escort attendees out of the building for their safety.
Krolczyk’s planned speech was centered around the issue of transgenderism, highlighting how radical gender ideology threatens major institutions such as women’s sports and higher education. She became a prominent speaker after a viral incident at the University of Cincinnati, where she received a failing grade for using the term “biological woman.” She went on to post a TikTok detailing the incident, which received millions of views before being removed by the platform.
Despite the disruptions, Krolczyk stated her desire to return to the campus, emphasizing she would not be intimidated. Riley Gaines also condemned the far-left activists’ actions in a post on X, saying “Protestors have barricaded her in a room, pulled the fire alarms, and are banging on the door. She can’t evacuate the building at this point. These activists need to be in jail.”
