Late last night, I received a bunch of text messages all at once with links to this KTLA tweet:
The headline reads: “BREAKING: LA city residents are ordered to remain in their homes effective immediately, and non-exempt businesses must cease operations requiring in-person staff.”
This was very confusing and scary to read because it was forceful, and you cannot be “ordered” to remain in your homes as an American. For the government to do this successfully, it’s called tyranny. But that cannot happen so long as the Constitution remains.
But back to the main point, the headline turned out to be misleading. And this is a lesson on why you need to read the actual article.
I am not here to tell you that Newsom’s California guidelines are not tyrannical because they are, and they are along the lines of opression. Luckily, there are broad exemptions within these guidelines that can most likely be applied to everyone in CA.
So why would the media put out a headline completely scaring the public? Why would Newsom/Garcetti put out a guide issuing all these tyrannical rules if you can scroll down further and see broad exceptions?
I’ll tell you why, because they want you to be scared, and when the public is worried, they are easy to control. They also think the majority of people will only read the headlines (true), and if you chose to read the statement, they don’t believe the majority of people will read it in its entirety (also true).
The media and the left work together to frame the narrative. One of their tactics is instilling fear in the public. They want you to think the government will save you. This is all about power.
It is worth noting, exceptions to the CA rules include “newspapers, television news, radio, magazine, podcast & journalism; & music, film & television production.”
Why do you think?
