Kanye and Candace Break the Internet

Photo: Candace Owens on Twitter

On Monday, Candace Owens posted an iconic photo of her and Kanye West wearing black and white inverted t-shirts with the words “WHITE LIVES MATTER” written in bold lettering. The seemingly simple photo broke the internet, and sparked outrage. Critics called them prejudiced towards their own race — which is obviously nonsensical. Of course, none of these people accused whites who wore “Black Lives Matter” t-shirts as anti-white racists, because even if they were, no one would care.

Kanye took to his Instagram to comment on the situation, and called out Black Lives Matter, saying the organization is a “scam.”

“Everyone knows that Black Lives Matter was a scam. Now it’s over, you’re welcome.”

Kanye made an initial post to Instagram with the caption, “Everyone knows that Black Lives Matter was a scam. Now it’s over. You’re welcome.”

“I mean, the whole idea here, via the Black Lives Matter movement, was to make sure that black people saw oppressions and saw white supremacy surrounding them — and convincing them that if they leaned into this narrative that somehow their lives would be better, it was a mirage.”

In a statement to TMZ, BLM said, “While some may see Kanye and Candace’s stunt as a distraction, we recognize that it harms thousands of families fighting for justice for their loved ones killed by state-sanctioned violence.”

Candace Owens had a different take, as she explained on her podcast, that the whole Black Lives Matter organization and movement was really just a massive grift. Leaders took funds from donations and bought themselves mansions in predominantly white neighborhoods, all while stoking violence among their base.

On her podcast, Owens spoke about the inconsistencies coming out of the “black community” from talking heads on the left that chalks every single problem up to systemic racism. She explained the fact that “black culture” encourages anger, divisiveness, and violence, which has all been rewarded by pop-culture, awards are handed out for rap songs that normalizes brutality.

I personally think the statement made by the duo was nothing short of genius. They revealed the hypocrisy of the critics, and made a very simple but firm statement while remaining respectful. Once again, Kanye West has totally broken the internet.

“Turning Point USA’s commitment to the fight for freedom on campus is more important now than ever.”
