It’s been over a week since country music star Jason Aldean released the video to his new single “Try That in a Small Town” but the left is still voicing outrage over the message of the song.

The song focuses on the rise in crime rates and rioting we’ve seen across the country, particularly by groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter. The message that the song and the music video makes is simple: small towns are far less tolerant of violence and crime than urban cities.

Despite this obvious point, Aldean is being accused of encouraging violence and being racist for releasing this song.

Aldean, being an outspoken patriot and conservative family man, has been an enemy of the left for quite some time. Both he and his wife, Britney Aldean, have written songs from the perspective of the people that the mainstream media have forgotten about.

Country Music Television (CMT) was so struck with controversy that it removed the song and its music video from the station. However, this did not stop the song’s massive success. “Try That in a Small Town” hit number one on the Billboard country music chart as many conservative country fans resonated with the overall theme of the song.

Several prominent conservative pundits have pointed out that those on the left accusing Aldean’s song of “promoting violence” have not condemned the rap industry for making songs promoting violence for decades. No one stopped artists like Lil Baby from writing songs in the wake of George Floyd’s death that encouraged violent actions toward law enforcement.

Aldean responded to the controversy that has been surrounding his song at a recent concert. Aldean simply stated, “If you are triggered by the song, then maybe you are the problem.“
