Jack Posobiec delivered an emotional tribute to Charlie Kirk during Turning Point USA’s memorial for its founder on Sunday, calling Kirk his “friend,” “brother,” and “commanding officer.”
Posobiec took the stage, holding a rosary, to applause from the crowd. He began by characterizing Kirk’s tragic death as a “sacrifice.”
“The true word for what Charlie did is sacrifice,” Posobiec said, describing sacrifice as a “gift” distinct from murder.
“Sacrifice is that last full measure of devotion for God, for country, and for his people, and for his family,” he continued. “Charlie Kirk died for all of you, and Charlie Kirk’s gift of sacrifice means that Charlie Kirk will live forever. Not just for all of us, not just for his family and Erika and for his children, but for all future generations of Americans.”
He warned about growing political tensions and asked whether Western civilization would “endure or fracture” amid unrest. Posobiec predicted that future historians would see Kirk’s death as the “turning point” that saved Western civilization.
Addressing critics who celebrated Kirk’s killing, Posobiec said. “The uglieness that has been revealed by Charlie’s murder will be and is already being overcome by the beauty of the outpouring of love and prayer from around the world.”
Posobiec said Kirk’s life gave Americans the courage and grit to stand against wrongdoing.
“We will never, ever, let them forget the name of Charlie Kirk,” he declared. “Our civilization will endure. The United States of America will endure.”
He also urged Americans to get rid of the “evil disease” behind Kirk’s death, noting the emboldened political division in this country that prevents those with opposing views from being able to engage in civil discourse. He closed by highlighting that a turn to faith is the solution.
“Are you ready to continue the mission?” Posobiec asked the crowd. “Then put on the full armor of God.”
