Migrants illegally entering the US scaled the border wall and threw water bottles, rocks, and sand at US border patrol agents, according to video footage obtained by the New York Post

According to video footage of the encounter, illegal immigrants climbed over the wall and used a rope ladder to scurry down into the US portion of the border where at least two of them were detained. Following the incursion, a game of tug-of-war arose between the US Border Patrol and the illegal immigrants over the rope ladder.

At least two migrants engaged in the tug-of-war went back to the Mexican side of the border, per the Post.

The confrontation was filmed by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), which “provided air support” to the US agents that stopped illegal immigrants entering the country. The interaction occurred near the Santa Teresa port of entry, according to DPS. Santa Teresa is near the border of Texas and New Mexico.

“The video illustrates recent behavior by these groups in the El Paso Sector — throwing rocks, sands, [and] water bottles at responding agents,” the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a statement.

This incident is among several recent attacks on Border Patrol agents by illegal immigrants entering the US. Hundreds of illegal immigrants were arrested on March 21 for participating in a riot and assaulting border patrol agents.

Texas arrested upwards of 200 illegal immigrants who rioted at the El Paso, Texas, border checkpoint and reportedly assaulted National Guard troops. Texas charged nine of those migrants involved in the riot, many of whom had knives and shanks on them, according to Collin Rugg’s reporting on X.

On March 31, a federal judge ordered the release of many of those illegal immigrants, according to a report from The Federalist. These reports come amid a record number of border patrol apprehensions.
