Ice Cube on Episode 11 of Tucker on Twitter

Renowned rapper and actor Ice Cube appeared on a recent episode of Tucker Carlson’s newest show “Tucker on Twitter” to share his perspective on social issues that have put him in the spotlight. Ice Cube has gained recent attention for his public comments on the COVID-19 pandemic, law enforcement, and notably, race relations.

The major focus of Ice Cube and Carlson’s conversation centered around the increasing amount of racial tension in American society and what forces are behind it. The former NWA rapper expressed to Carlson that he believes institutions like the media and politicians profit from perpetuating racial tension.

“It’s not about race, it’s not about color,” Ice Cube explained. “A lot of people make a lot of money off of the races fighting against each other and bickering. They’re the ones pushing it in our face all the time, that we’re separate.”

A highlight of the interview involved Ice Cube and Tucker Carlson driving through the streets of South Central Los Angeles, where Ice Cube spent his younger years.

“How do you think politicians in Los Angeles have done running this city?” Carlson asked.

“It’s pretty much the same people running it the same way. Politicians only pay attention to the people that give them money. Everybody else is kind of an extra in their movie,” Ice Cube responded.

Ice Cube has received significant backlash over the last year for his willingness to sit down with right-wing commentators and speak out against far-left policies. While the rapper does not identify as conservative, the mere fact that he is not 100% on board with radical, leftist ideals is enough for him to be shunned in the entertainment industry.

The rapper explained to Carlson that because of his dissenting views, both The View and Oprah Winfrey have barred him from appearing on their shows.

“I’m not part of the club,” Ice Cube explained. “So I have to go places, for one, that I’m welcome and I can voice my opinion without somebody saying I’m a bad person.”
