The so-called “ringleader” of a violent Venezuelan gang was arrested by federal authorities in New York City, according to a report from the New York Post

Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco, 25, is a key figure in the prison gang Tren de Aragua, which gained national attention after its members overtook multiple apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado. He can be seen in notorious footage breaking into an Aurora apartment heavily armed.

Zambrano-Pacheco, who police describe as a leader of the vicious gang, had a warrant out on him for kidnapping, burglary, and menacing in Colorado.

Crimes connected to Tren de Aragua members in the Denver area include two shootings, several assaults, thefts, and instances of threatening people with guns, per the Denver Post

Zambrano-Pacheo was detained as part of the federal government’s newly issued executive order “designating cartels and other organizations as foreign terrorist organizations and specially designated global terrorists.”

Gangs like Tren de Aragua and La Mara Salvatrucha — better known as MS-13 — have reportedly created “campaigns of violence and terror in the United States and internationally are extraordinarily violent, vicious, and similarly threaten the stability of the international order in the Western Hemisphere.”

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem joined law enforcement as they arrested criminal illegal aliens, including Zambrano-Pacheo.

“Dirtbags like this will continue to be removed from our street,” Noem wrote alongside a clip of what is believed to be Zambrano-Pacheco’s arrest.

Witnesses of the ICE raid on Zambrano-Pacheco in New York City claim that agents brought him out with “shackles on his wrist to his feet.”

Eight additional high-ranking members of Tren de Aragua were arrested this past week as well. Police seized a cache of more than 30 illegal firearms and nabbed four of the illegal immigrants in New York City alone. Four others are now in custody in Florida and Texas.
