ICE Arrests Two Suspected Terrorists Amid Illegal Immigration Crackdown

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested two individuals suspected of terrorist ties as part of the Trump administration’s intensified efforts to enforce immigration laws and prioritize national security.
One individual, a Jordanian national reportedly linked to ISIS, was apprehended last Friday by ICE in Buffalo/Rouses Point, the White House revealed in a post on X. Additionally, a Turkish national, identified as 30-year-old Gokhan Adriguzel, classified as a “known or suspected terrorist,” was taken into custody by ICE New York, according to a report by the New York Post.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, [ICE] agents are working tirelessly to protect our communities,” the White House said in a post on X that included a list of dangerous criminals who were arrested for being in the country illegally.
These arrests are part of a broader operation that has resulted in over 2,000 apprehensions during Trump’s first week in office, with a focus on individuals with criminal records or who pose potential security threats. Trump’s Border Czar, Tom Homan, announced on Thursday that 1,300 migrants had been arrested at the time, and “over 1,000 of them were criminals.”
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has previously cautioned against the risks of migrants with terrorist ties entering the country illegally. The 2025 Homeland Threat Assessment released last year by DHS warned “Over the next year, we expect some individuals with terrorism ties and some criminal actors will continue their efforts to exploit migration flows and the complex border security environment to enter the United States.”
Additionally, a report from last year found that in July of 2024, 422 individuals on the federal Terrorist Screening Data Set were encountered trying to enter the country illegally through the northern and southern borders.
