US border czar Tom Homan spoke at a TPUSA event Thursday at the University of Texas at El Paso, a city in close proximity to the US southern border.
The event was attended by protesters who displayed signs outside of the building, which was captured by TPUSA Frontlines.
At one point in his speech, a heckler in the audience called Homan a “racist” and a “traitor,” prompting backlash from the border czar
“Call me what you want,” Homan responded, “I don’t care. Why don’t you grow a backbone, put on a Kevlar vest and a gun on your hip and go secure this border?”
During his speech, the border czar related to the audience that he prays every night for the safety of all involved in US border activity, including both border agents and migrants crossing the border.
“I don’t want anybody to die,” Homan said. “That includes officers, and that includes aliens – and that’s a stone cold fact.
Homan criticized former-President Joe Biden’s border policies as the most disastrous among the six administrations he has worked under. Concerning the border, the Biden administration “opened it, they meant to open it, and knew exactly what they were doing,” he said.
These circumstances, Homan claimed, led to increased deaths from fentanyl along with the rates of sex trafficking throughout the prior presidential term.
“When 70% of agents are off the line, what happens? A quarter of a million Americans died from fentanyl coming across an open border. Because there wasn’t enough law enforcement there to stop it. Sex-trafficking of women and children, all-time high.”
