How Elon Musk Saved My Reporting
Back in November 2020, I was permanently suspended from Twitter without reason and then twice more as I attempted to share my reporting on the once censor-filled platform. In an incredible turn of events, Elon Musk has restored journalists like myself back to the platform, in a huge win for free speech nationwide.
For the past two years my work has been completely banned from Twitter, a platform I previously used to break national news and share the truth about events such as the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020. During 2020, hundreds of people were censored, silenced, and deleted in Twitter’s attempt to control the narrative.
My initial ban came after President Donald Trump retweeted my clip of Americans singing the “Star Spangled Banner” at the Million MAGA March in Washington DC. This clip garnered almost 10 million views and one week later my entire reporting career had been wiped from Twitter.
I created two more accounts after which were both deleted after my reporting again garnered millions of views.
During the 2022 NCAA Women’s Swimming Championship I interviewed the one athlete brave enough to speak out against Lia Thomas, the transgender “woman” competing in the championships.
Her voice countered the entire narrative the media was trying to set that Lia Thomas, a biological man, swimming against female competitors was a good thing. So naturally, Twitter used censorship to silence her voice.
The third ban came after I exposed how minority Americans were really faring under the current administration’s economic policy. They exposed how difficult life has been due to high gas prices and inflation rates. Couple that with the nude transgender person that was twerking in front of children at “D.C. Pride” and Twitter once again deleted the videos that had countered the mainstream narrative.
As of November 21, 2022, almost two years after my initial ban, Twitter has restored my account alongside all of my original reporting.
This is a huge win for free speech as Twitter employees continue to reinstate previously banned journalists and commentators.
For years left-wing activists have been allowed to slander people like myself as “Neo-nazis” and “white supremacists”, but under the new leadership of Elon Musk, Twitter has become a place where independent journalism, free speech and truth can now live.
There are still many notable voices that remain censored, however, in just the few short weeks that Elon has been in charge, he’s begun restoring previously silenced voices, cracked down on child pornography on Twitter and restored hope to Americans seeking truth nationwide.
