For months following the overturn of Roe v, Wade, liberal activist organizations centered their message around the topic of abortion. Politicians encouraged “making voices heard,” as protesters illegally gathered outside of Supreme Court Judges’ homes up until just a few days ago. Since the decision, radical protesters and activism groups have caused destruction and incited violence against pro-life groups and clinics. The issue activated people in a way many were not expecting, and conservatives may have underestimated how consequential it would be.
Conservatives have been incredibly vocal on social media, and even garnered a massive turnout for the “March for Life” rallies. Information-packed posts filled with educational content combats popular pro-abortion narratives.
Our movement has created a blueprint to refute every single abortion argument, and consistently speaks to the conservative base on how to provide the most compassionate alternatives. Organizations like Live Action boldly call out disinformation propagated by activists for the sole purpose of deceiving a generation into believing that the baby in the womb is anything but human.
So why then is our message still so misunderstood by millions of people around the country?
The possible answer, is a lack of education beginning in middle or high school on fetal development, while organizations like Planned Parenthood send activists into public schools to influence and mislead students at the earliest age possible. The pro-life movement can only do so much when attempting to educate adults via social media — most people who disagree simply tune it out.
The Young Democratic Socialists of America have a lengthy article on their website dedicated to convincing socialists to become educators. Their plan has always been indoctrination — and parents are only now beginning to see this. Radically left-wing teachers, responsible for giving children a full and complete understanding of, say, biology, have completely abused their positions and used it as an opportunity to push pseudoscience.
Across the country, public schools have been exposed for teaching children that they can change their genders on a whim and inviting drag queens to the school for performances or “story hours.” But specifically pertaining to abortion, schools have refused to teach students about the science behind the humanity of the fetus.
As fetal science develops, the evidence becomes increasingly more aligned with pro-life messaging. The only way you can deceive a generation into believing that abortion has nothing to do with the baby, and everything to do with the woman, is by blatantly ignoring the baby’s personhood all together. This is why you see prominent voices on the left claim that the fetal heartbeat that can be heard as early as six weeks gestation is “manufactured” by the patriarchy.
Public education institutions have enlisted the help of Planned Parenthood to teach middle and high school students about sex education — an organization that has a clearly defined objective. This allows the left to benefit off of emotionally manipulative tactics, which appeal to individuals who do not have any foundational knowledge on the subject.
“Planned Parenthood is the single largest provider of sex education in the United States, reaching 1.2 million people with education and outreach each year. Planned Parenthood sex educators teach across the lifespan — including students in elementary, middle, and high school as well as young adults, parents, and older adults.”
Planned Parenthood Action
So where does that leave conservatives? This is our wake up call to action.
Having a presence on social media is simply one aspect of activism, it is not the only way to raise awareness and educate people on the humanity of the pre-born baby.
Parents attending school board meetings and holding teachers accountable to ensure that children are being educated, not indoctrinated, is a phenomenal way to cultivate positive societal change. This is possibly the best route forward to encourage publicly funded institutions to move away from Planned Parenthood endorsed “education.”
Given that the pro-life movement excels in debating their opponents, and on social media, making changes to public education is possibly the most beneficial step that can be taken moving forward. This could be the solid foundation that will allow the pro-line message to penetrate culture in a meaningful way, making abortion unthinkable.
