Host of ‘The View’ Claims ‘Jesus Would be the Grand Marshal at the Pride Parade’
On Monday, “The View” host, Sunny Hostin and her colleagues were discussing what they see as the “weaponization” of religion from conservatives, following the aftermath of the tragic shooting at a Colorado LGBTQ nightclub.
The conversation began with host Sara Haines explained, “As someone who was raised in the church, it breaks my heart that people weaponize religion in the way that they are doing.” She continued, “We are here to be inclusive, and you will never find a more inclusive place than a gay bar.”
I’m not sure which Bible Haines has been reading, but I haven’t come across a verse in which God calls on Christians to be “inclusive.” Christians are called to love others, and explicitly called to protect children. Most conservatives likely remember the utter degeneracy that took place around the country during “pride month” last June . Numerous children were exposed to nearly or fully naked adults parading around the streets in full view, and often times encouraging children to participate. Finally, the Bible calls pride a sin, not something to be celebrated.
Haines tells conservatives to take religion out of the conversation surrounding the LGBTQ+ community entirely, while she simultaneously tries to use religion to support her own worldview. Ironically, people on the right very rarely point to religion when explaining why it is wrong to expose children to wildly inappropriate situations, and why it is wrong to display your fetishes in public. Whenever religion enters the conversation, it is almost always the left using out-of-contact Biblical excerpts in a desperate attempt to confirm their narrative.
This is exactly what Hostin did when she claimed, “Jesus would be the grand marshal at the pride parade.”
This was followed up, of course, by Whoopi Goldberg (who publicly claims to be a Catholic) preaching to viewers about the Biblical concept of humans being made in God’s image. She concluded, “Keep that in mind when you are trying to figure out where you stand as a human being, let alone a Christian.”
Their conversation alleged that, hate, which springs from Christians and people of various religions who oppose the idea that it is perfectly acceptable to push LGBTQ agendas into every day life, and especially on children, caused the attack on the nightclub in Colorado. “The View” hosts and many left leaning media outlets blamed conservative commentators and social media pages for “propagating anti-LGBTQ rhetoric” which, according to them, must have caused this violent outburst. Because conservatives and Christians do not want to trans the kids, they are “promoting violence” according to the left.
“The attack on a gay-oriented nightspot immediately raised worries about any connection to the country’s corrosive cultural conflicts. The shooting took place during Transgender Awareness Week, in a place of sharp political division, a city that is home to prominent socially conservative and evangelical Christian organizations such as Focus on the Family.”

This narrative quickly fell apart when lawyers revealed that the assailant identifies as “non-binary” and uses they/them pronouns, not something a far-right extremist typically does. Despite this, I highly doubt listeners will hear anything resembling an apology to Christians any time soon from the ladies over at “The View.”
