An equestrian center in California is taking it upon themselves to share value for healing during these hard times as people’s mental health is still being affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic.
La Esperanza Ranch in Topanga Canyon, California, founded by Sabine Niederberghaus, started the Equine Leadership Program to offer programs for healing.
They correlate what a person is experiencing and match them with a horse. The idea behind it is for the person and horse to make a connection and “build up their confidence” as they grow together.
Neiderberhaus spoke to Fox News stating, “I had time during the pandemic to think about what I was doing and to feel where my mission was going to be. When [society] opened back up, I was foreseeing that people were going to get stressed and they’re going to [experience] problems, communication problems in the family… I thought you know what? I’m going to be helping some people and I hope I will help a lot of people to find to themselves their true inside, their emotions, their awareness, their energy levels.”
Sabine Niederberghaus is one of many organizations offering horse therapy. The Academy for Coaching with Horses has a similar program that sees horse therapy helping people build leadership and self-awareness.
I can only imagine how beneficial this is to so many people. My only complaint is that I’m allergic to horses, or this would be right up my alley!
Have you ever thought about horse therapy or seen the benefits of the human-horse connection?
