I’m sure many of you are reading this and asking: Wait, who’s Hank Aaron?

First of all, if you asked that, you have committed blasphemy to the sport of baseball. Second, I’m kidding.

Hank Aaron was one of the best (if not the best) baseball players ever to walk the earth.

His nick-name was “hammering-Hank” because he was a freaking rockstar at knocking balls out of the park.

Not only that, but Hank Aaron paved a historical path for African Americans who pursued a career in the Major League Baseball field.
Welp, cancel-culture never misses a beat, and shortly after his death, there was a big call to change the name of Hank Aaron’s team, the “Atlanta Braves,” to something else because it’s offensive.

Am I the only one that thinks the word “Brave” is NOT offensive?
I get it, Braves is referring to Native Americans, but the word “brave” tends to be a compliment that you give to someone, not a slur like the jokesters are depicting it to be.

Nothing says honoring a man who pioneered sports for his community, like removing the team he played for.

How can we respect the INCREDIBLE record that that man had if that team doesn’t even exist anymore!?!?!

I understand people are trying to be compassionate, which I don’t think is necessarily wrong. What is wrong is being so self-righteous that it ends up suffocating REAL things that happened to REAL people.

This is just another over-step of the cancel culture, and I’m sure there is more to come. Anyways, RIP to Hank Aaron, and may his record go on to inspire many people who dream of playing as well as he did.
P.S. Screw cancel culture for making his death political. This is why we can’t have nice things.
