On November 15th, Governor Greg Abbott invoked the “Invasion Clause” in Texas to help get the flow of illegal immigration at our Southern Border under control as crossings reach new records.

“I invoked the Invasion Clauses of the U.S. & Texas Constitutions to fully authorize Texas to take unprecedented measures to defend our state against an invasion,” Governor Abbott tweeted.

Governor Abbott provided a list of actions Texas will be authorized to take under this clause including, deploying the National Guard and Texas Department of Public Safety to the border, continuing the building of the border wall, and designating Mexican cartels as “foreign terrorist organizations.”

I joined Jack Posobiec on Human Events Daily to discuss what this means for Texas and how bad illegal immigration has gotten over the past two years.

Illegal crossings hit a record high for the fiscal year of 2022, as 2.3 million illegal immigrants made their way across our Southern Border.

Couple this with the over 1.7 million migrants that came across the border in 2021 and we’re seeing a clear picture as to why invoking the “Invasion Clause” is so crucial.

Seeing the total number of crossings per year is shocking, but even more so is the number of illegal crossings per day.

Bill Melugin of Fox News, highlights how a group of over 1,000 migrants can cross into the Del Rio sector of Texas in just one day. With as many as 69,000 illegals crossing into Texas since the beginning of October.

As a reporter who has visited the border myself, it is truly shocking to see how unmitigated illegal crossings really are. Anyone can go to the border of Texas or Arizona any day and watch as hundreds of people continue to walk into our country unabated.
