Gen Z is Being Raised to Hate America
There is still a wide spreading pandemic across the United States that only seems to be getting worse as time passes and not better – ingratitude! We are hearing more frequently the arguments from young adults that America should be condemned, not applauded.
A recent study from Morning Consult shows that only 16% of Gen Z is proud to live in America. That’s right; only one out of every six individuals in our youngest generation is proud of this country.
We are witnessing firsthand the tides starting to shift in the wrong direction. History has always shown that the youngest generation in society can go either two ways: it can uphold the values bestowed upon it but the generations prior, or it can ignore the values and wisdom of the past and lead society into harsh times.
The young Gen Z adults of our time are often sympathized with for being “misunderstood,” or “misguided.” Regardless of your perception of today’s youth, you must recognize that there is a serious concern when there is a massive disdain for the freest and fair country in the world.
Gen Z’s lack of appreciation for our country makes them vulnerable. When you successfully make individuals believe nothing good can come from their surroundings, then the next question we should all be thinking of is what will make them want to hold onto it when others come to take it? When a group of people cannot appreciate the freedoms their government must acknowledge, it makes it easier for entities to attack those freedoms. We are seeing this play out in real-time as many young Americans are in favor of censorship, unrestricted illegal immigration, heavy government regulation, and more. Seems hypocritical, right?
The generations prior to us have suffered through massive hardships like wars and slavery. America was founded in the quest for freedom, built and established on the blood and sacrifices of countless men and women who had a vision of what America could be. But through their adversities, they fought for their freedom. Our ancestors lived hard lives in order to create a country that awards freedom to all people. If we fail to appreciate these freedoms, we fail to appreciate our ancestors.
Ironically, all the people who keep pushing the narrative that America is a bad place to live have NEVER left.
