Protests broke out January 15, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducts its operations in the region, which have attracted massive controversy in the past few weeks.

Anti-ICE sentiment in the city increased after the death of activist Renee Good, who drove away from, and allegedly into, an ICE officer, prompting the agent to fire in an act of self defense.

Amid tension between anti-ICE activists and federal officers, and the ensuing obstruction of its operations and general rowdiness of the demonstrations, threats of the Insurrection Act possibly being invoked by President Trump have been looming.

These protests–which went from the late afternoon into the night–were covered on-the-ground by Frontlines TPUSA in Minneapolis. Frontlines obtained footage of protesters screaming various negative messages to agents outside of the Bishop Whipple Federal Building.

For instance, one protester yelled in the face of several officers, “Nothing will ever make you feel like a human being again!”

Attempts were repeatedly made by protesters to obstruct officers from gaining access to buildings and going about their operations.

According to Frontlines, from the outset of the demonstrations, protesters were warned by federal officers to “stay away from the vehicles coming in and out of the area.”

At one moment, protesters blocked Federal Law Enforcement from leaving the building.

Frontlines additionally obtained footage of agents later using tear gas to disperse crowds of protesters who were blocking access to a federal building.
