Frontlines TPUSA investigative reporter Jonathan Choe recently covered the ongoing issue with voting fraud in California, with particular emphasis on fraudulent activity in the Skid Row neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.

In cooperation with Citizen Justice League, Frontlines is investigating this matter together with journalist Cam Higby.

Frontlines’ previous Skid Row reports discovered the tactics of petition circulators, including bribery with gifts and cash for signatures. The most recent report places emphasis on victims of identity fraud due to activities on Skid Row. Consequently, these victims have found themselves disillusioned with their state’s government for allowing this fraud to occur.

Choe visited a woman in San Bernardino, California, who was disappointed that her name and information were being used for fraud, wondering how her information was leaked and thereby used for such purposes.

While visiting Skid Row, one petitioner approached by the two journalists – who acted as possible signers – told them to sign a petition under names different than their own. For instance, the name John was dismissed for sounding too regular.

“This isn’t conflicting with your morals is it?” the petitioner asked the two about dishonestly signing, which they refrained from doing. Later they notified the state government of this interaction.

Criminals have used Skid Row as a “playground” for years so the presence of petitioners taking advantage of others through bribery and voter fraud is unsurprising to many Californians. Attorney Elizabeth Mitchell told the reporters that Skid Row lacks a sufficient presence of law enforcement to counteract these illegal activities.
