FBI Sets Up Recruitment Table at Charlotte LGBT Pride Event

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced on X that employees from the Charlotte, North Carolina branch participated in a Pride event and actively recruited attendees.
“Recently, @FBICharlotte participated in a Pride event where the #FBI spoke to attendees about career opportunities and the work the Bureau does to protect civil rights,” the FBI posted on X. The post contained a community outreach link so that interested parties can “learn about opportunities to participate in #FBI programs near you.”
The post received notable backlash online by those who criticized the bureau’s clear political bias.
“I’m going to reference this post whenever someone tries to tell me the FBI is a politically unbiased institution and it would never operate in a way which benefits one political party over another,” one commenter said. “I’d guess that conservatives are severely underrepresented in FBI ranks, especially the leadership levels. Is there any outreach to encourage them [to apply]?” another asked.
The FBI has been widely criticized for clearly exhibiting bias in its chosen investigations, and politically motivated arrests, including that of Catholic pro-life activist Mark Houck who was threatened with 11 years in prison. Additionally, TPUSA reported earlier this year that a document was leaked that originated from the Richmond, Virginia bureau field office likened “radical traditional Catholics” to “extremists.” The document states that this specific category of Catholics exhibits a “frequent adherence to anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ and white supremacist ideology.”
The bureau also offers a Diversity Agent Recruitment (DAR) Program, seeking ethnically “diverse” candidates to fill special agent positions nationwide. “I want to ensure diversity is a part of the DNA of the FBI … until it becomes who we are,” then FBI Director James B. Comey said in 2016 when the program was established. Presumably, the agency’s “diversity” initiatives extend to members of the LGBT community given their recent activities at Pride events.
