Fauci to Retire, but is it the End of Government Overreach?
Dr. Anthony Fauci is finally set to retire, after half a century spent in government, and never having been elected by the people. He was appointed Director of NIAID in 1984, and has been stuck in permanent Washington ever since, where he has been comfortably paid he highest “civil servant” salary ($417,608 in 2019) of all government employees, even more than the President.
Fauci was the face of the ever-changing CDC guidance that laid out the nation’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He flip flopped constantly on whether or not to wear a mask, and the desired effect of the vaccines. We even found out how he used the $6.3 billion NIAID budget, to allegedly fund an organization that tortured puppies.
Most individuals who value transparency from their government, freedom, and their Constitutional rights never saw Dr. Fauci as the hero that the media outlets have portrayed him as. Fauci’s response to COVID-19 sowed division within our country, and encouraged Americans to shun family and friends who valued individual medical freedom. Fauci fear-mongered the public for the past two years, and claimed to “represent science,” thereby silencing any dissent within the medical community. Fauci has, on many occasions, reminded the country that he isa scientist, not a politician.
Though myself and many others are justifiably excited to see Fauci go, we have seen what happens when one radical leftist leaves his or her post — someone even more radical is ready and waiting to take their place.
