Twitter is in SHAMBLES over Viola Davis’ portrayal of Michelle Obama in the new Showtime series The First Ladies, as Davis seems to have chosen to engage in mimicry over the former First Lady’s particular way of speech instead of choosing to embody her.
Viola Davis’ performance as Michelle Obama in the Showtime anthology series The First Lady, about America’s first ladies, has drawn mocking and fierce backlash on social media as viewers called the Oscar-winner’s portrayal of the former first lady “insulting.” Social media users have been posting short video clips that show Davis in character with her lips tightly held together. Davis’ facial expression left several viewers aghast.

The lesson here is twofold. First of all, never twist yourself into knots trying to appease the Left. They hate any and everything and will tear down celebrities in a heartbeat. Number two, the hagiography of political figures interests absolutely nobody. Viola Davis tried to insert her art into the embodiment of a political figure of the Left and failed miserably.
